About Us

Our Mission, Vision, Founders, and Sisters

OLA Sisters Ghana Province

The OLA (Our Lady's Apostles) is an international religious organisation composed of Reverend Sisters who have consecrated their lives to God through vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. The Ghana Province represents one of the vibrant expressions of our congregation's mission in West Africa.

"We are called to be living witnesses of Christ's love, bringing hope to the marginalised and light to those in spiritual darkness. Our mission is to serve God through our sisters, brothers, and all of creation."

- OLA Sisters' Charism

OLA Sisters in prayer and community

Our Mission

To serve as living witnesses of Christ's love through evangelisation, education, healthcare, and social services. We commit ourselves to the spiritual formation of individuals and communities, with special attention to women, children, and the marginalised.

Our mission is rooted in the Gospel values of love, compassion, and service. We strive to:

  • Provide quality education that forms both mind and spirit
  • Offer compassionate healthcare to all, especially the poor
  • Engage in community development and empowerment programmes
  • Foster spiritual growth through retreats and pastoral care
  • Promote justice, peace, and care for creation

Our Vision

To be a dynamic religious community that transforms society through Gospel witness, creating communities where human dignity is respected, rights are protected, and all people can flourish in God's love.

We envision a world where:

  • Every person recognises their inherent dignity as children of God
  • Communities are built on justice, peace, and solidarity
  • The marginalised find acceptance, support, and empowerment
  • Faith and reason work together for human development
  • Young women are inspired to religious life and service
